The jDM extensions catch downloads from your preferred browser and sends them to jDM with information like URL, Referrer, Cookies. The extensions add three context menu items in your browser to allow you to easily start one or more downloads in jDM, the items are:

  • Download with jDM
  • Download Selected with jDM
  • Download All with jDM

Integration Steps

  • Open jDM and goto Preferences > Extensions
  • Press 'Install extension' button next to the image of your preferred browser.

Google Chrome & Firefox extension

The extension replaces your browser download manager with jDM by intercepting downloads started in your browser and sending them to jDM. You can configure this extension to intercept all downloads, downloads with specified file types or none at all.


You can also specify domain names under Do not catch downloads from sites to allow your browser to proceed with downloads normally for those sites.


To change extension settings go to

Google Chrome > Window > Extensions > jDM > options.

Firefox > Tools > Add-ons > jDM > Preferences.

The extension can find streaming media(audio/video files), you play on websites. This feature can be disabled by unchecking Find streaming media option in settings of this extension. When this feature is enabled it may send requests to that website to get information of that media.


The number of found media will show on extension's icon in the browser toolbar.

Note: We strongly recommend the user to check the copyright of the media and files before downloading. The uses of this extension for illegal purposes is forbidden. If you're unsure about the media to be downloadable you should contact the owner or publisher of the media and ask for permission to download it. You(the user) acknowledge that you bear entire liability(if any) for copyright violations.

 

Safari extension

Safari 12.0 or later

This extension only adds context menu items to Safari browser. It does not capture downloads automatically.


Earlier Safari versions

This extension should capture almost all downloads according to File Types specified in extension settings but sometimes it may not work properly.


You can also specify domain names under Do not catch downloads from sites to allow your browser to proceed with downloads normally for those sites.


To change extension settings go to

Safari > Preferences > Extensions > jDM > Click me to show jDM's options.

How to install this extension

Safari 12.0 or later: Please goto: Safari > Preferences > Extensions and enable jDM extension.


Earlier Safari versions
  • Please download this extension
  • Locate this file in Finder and double click to open it
  • Click on 'Install' button
