How to authenticate downloads
The user name and password you have provided at 'jDM > Preferences > Advanced' is used to authenticate the download for the specific host.
Sometimes this may not work because the server may require cookies for authentication, in this case you should use jDM extensions to initiate the download. You can use *.* in 'Host' field to match all websites. |
About Schedule downloads
The files marked as scheduled will only start downloading at 'Start downloads at' time on specific date.
You check which files are marked as scheduled by clicking the blue icon at 'Show' toolbar item. But when stopping downloads at specific time selected at 'Stop downloads at', all the downloads will stopped and any of the action you have selected at 'jDM > Preferences > Advanced > After completing all downloads' will be performed. Example: if you have chosen 'Shut down', your Mac will be shut down after stopping all downloads. |
About splitting downloads into threads
To split the download into 2 or more threads
1. The file size must be more than 5 MB and
2. The file must be resumable.
If server doesn't allow 2 or more threads to be simultaneously downloaded, the file will be splitted into threads but the threads will be downloaded one by one.
